Shenga holgi is a traditional and popular sweet dish from Karnataka, India. It is a type of flatbread or stuffed bread made with a filling of roasted groundnuts (shenga) and jaggery. To make shenga holgi, the groundnut and jaggery filling is prepared first by roasting groundnuts and then grinding them along with jaggery to form a coarse mixture. This mixture is then used as a stuffing for the flatbread dough. The filled dough is rolled out into thin circles and cooked on a hot griddle or tava until both sides are golden brown and cooked through. Shenga holgi is often served warm and can be enjoyed as a dessert or snack. It is a popular dish during festivals and special occasions in Karnataka, especially during festivities like Ugadi and Dasara. The combination of the nutty flavor from the groundnuts and the sweetness from the jaggery makes it a delicious treat enjoyed by many. Note: Unpack the holgi after receiving them and put them under fan air for an hour and then while serving reheat on tawa and put little ghee to enhance the taste of holgi.
